Rapper Offset hospitalised after being shot outside Florida casino

The rapper Offset is in stable condition in the hospital after being shot outside a Florida casino on Monday.

Offset, a former member of the Atlanta hip-hop duo Migos, was shot in a valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, according to his spokesperson.

He is being treated in a hospital and is “closely monitored,” according to a spokesman.

Offset was previously married to musician Cardi B, with whom he had three children.

The details surrounding the incident were not immediately accessible.

According to the Seminole Police Department, two people were detained, and the incident is being investigated.

“The site is secure, and there is no threat to the public,” according to a police statement. “Operations continue as normal.”

Takeoff, Offset’s fellow Migos member, died at the age of 28 in 2022 after being shot outside a Houston bowling alley where he and his uncle, Quavo, were playing dice.

The accused, Patrick Clark, has maintained his innocence and will face trial in November, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Migos, known for their characteristic rapid-fire triplet flow, rose to prominence with the 2013 song Versace and later received Grammy nominations for best rap album (2017’s Culture) and best rap performance.

They are most known for their 2016 Lil Uzi Vert duet Bad and Boujee, which reached number one in the United States, as well as Top 10 hits MotorSport with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, and Walk It Talk It with Drake.

Offset and Cardi B secretly got married in September 2017 in Atlanta. Cardi B announced in 2024 that she had filed for divorce.
