Pulisic inspires 10-man Milan to victory over Napoli

AC Milan moved top of Serie A after securing a 2-1 win over Napoli at San Siro on Sunday.
Christian Pulisic set up Alexis Saelemaekers for the opener before adding a second himself, while Milan held on despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half.
Early breakthrough
Milan took the lead in the third minute when Pulisic’s driving run and cross from the left found Saelemaekers, who finished from close range.

The American forward doubled the advantage in the 31st minute with a composed strike.
Estupinan dismissed
The hosts were reduced to 10 men after the break when Pervis Estupinan was sent off for denying Giovanni di Lorenzo a clear scoring chance.
The initial yellow card was upgraded to a red following VAR review.
Napoli respond but fall short
Kevin De Bruyne converted the resulting penalty to make it 2-1, but despite their numerical advantage, Napoli failed to find an equaliser.
The result lifted Milan above Napoli on goal difference at the top of the table. Roma also sit level with the leading pair on 12 points after a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona.
