Peggy Ovire reacts after viral video with Kachi Nnochiri sparks dating rumors
Popular Nigerian actress Peggy Ovire has finally reacted after a video of her linking arms with a colleague, Kachi Nnochiri surfaced online and sparked romance rumours.
The actress was seen attending an event with the actor, with both dressed in matching purple outfits believed to be the asoebi for the occasion.
In viral clips circulating on social media, the two stayed close throughout the event, with Kachi seen holding her arm as they walked into the venue.
As expected, Nigerians did not waste time jumping to conclusions.
Some social media users claimed Kachi was her new lover, while others dragged her for allegedly moving on too quickly from her husband, Frederick Leonard.
Reacting to a post that described Kachi as her lover, Peggy swiftly shut down the rumours.
“Kachi is happily married, una don start. He was helping me cos of my heels,” she wrote.
Her response has since stirred fresh reactions online, with some defending her and others insisting that Nigerians will always speculate.
One user wrote, “Una no go rest. Person no fit attend event again?” Another added, “So because man hold her hand, dem don love am?”
The development comes amid reports of a split between Peggy and Frederick Leonard.
The news was first shared by self-acclaimed activist Stanley Ontop, before Peggy later took to social media to call out a married man for alleged infidelity.
While rumours may continue to circulate, Peggy has made it clear that there is nothing romantic going on between her and Kachi.
