Barcelona midfielder Pedri has thanked Valencia supporters for applauding his performance during Barcelona’s 5-0 victory at Mestalla on Sunday.
The Spain international produced an impressive performance as the defending champions maintained their perfect start to the La Liga season with a fourth consecutive victory.

Valencia supporters salute former player
Pedri received a warm reception from the home crowd despite playing for the visiting side. His performance was eventually acknowledged by Valencia supporters, who applauded and chanted his name during the match.
The gesture appeared to surprise the Barcelona midfielder, who expressed his appreciation after the final whistle.
“I have to thank everyone,” Pedri told reporters. “When the fans of the opposing team celebrate you, it is always something special, and I wish them all the best for the season.”
The 23-year-old was one of several Barcelona players to impress as Hansi Flick’s team recorded their third five-goal victory of the campaign.
Barcelona strengthen position at the top
Lamine Yamal scored twice, while Pedri and Raphinha were also on target in a strong performance from the champions.
Dani Olmo made an impact after coming off the bench, providing two assists, while Fermin Lopez scored once and created two further goals.
The victory also allowed Barcelona to take advantage of Real Madrid dropping points against Real Betis, strengthening their position at the top of the table.
Barcelona have now scored 17 goals and conceded just two in their opening four league matches under Flick.
