Palmer unsettled at Chelsea as Man United links intensify

Cole Palmer is increasingly frustrated at Chelsea and could consider a move away this summer, with interest building from top European clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
The 23-year-old attacker is understood to be unhappy with recent tactical adjustments, which he believes have limited his influence in attacking areas, reports SunSport.
The shift has coincided with a dip in form following an impressive debut campaign in which he scored 18 goals and registered 14 assists.
Tactical concerns and squad changes
Sources indicate Palmer has also felt the impact of squad restructuring, particularly the absence of Nicolas Jackson, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich.

The striker’s movement and pace had previously complemented Palmer’s style, providing space and attacking balance.
Chelsea reinforced their forward line with the arrivals of João Pedro and Liam Delap, a move that altered the team’s attacking dynamic.
Since then, Palmer has struggled to replicate last season’s output, with injuries further affecting his consistency.
Performance pressure and European uncertainty
Under manager Liam Rosenior, Chelsea sit sixth in the Premier League and face a significant challenge to secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
Missing out on Europe’s elite competition could intensify uncertainty around key players, including Palmer.
Recent results have added to the pressure, with Chelsea suffering a heavy aggregate defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, followed by a league loss to Everton.
Frustrations have been visible on the pitch, including a moment where Palmer reacted to a missed passing opportunity during that defeat.
Transfer stance and future outlook
Despite the growing speculation, Chelsea’s internal position remains firm.
The club reportedly considers Palmer “untouchable” and he remains under a long-term contract until 2033.
However, there are indications the England international could be open to a return to Manchester, where he began his career with Manchester City. While United are monitoring the situation, their immediate transfer priorities lie elsewhere.
