According to a statement issued by the planning committee for Timi’s 15th coronation, Oba Lawal would bestow the title of Jagunmolu of Ede on a former Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, as part of the festivities.

In a statement in response to Dambazau’s intended installation, Alliyu stated that he was installed as the Jagunmolu of Edeland in March 1999 by the immediate previous Timi, Oba Tijanni Oyedokun.
