Osimhen set for Galatasaray medical ahead of €75m move

Victor Osimhen is scheduled to undergo a medical at Galatasaray on Thursday, July 31 as his long-awaited €75 million transfer from Napoli nears completion.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Nigerian striker, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan at the Turkish champions, will arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday evening, with medical tests and contract signing expected to follow on Thursday.
Osimhen had a prolific campaign last season, scoring 37 goals and registering eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
His impact convinced both the player and the club to push for a permanent transfer, despite interest from Saudi side Al-Hilal, who reportedly offered higher wages.
Napoli held firm on their €75 million asking price, the value of Osimhen’s release clause, even though the clause itself was not formally triggered.
Galatasaray agreed to pay €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million due by the end of 2026.
The agreement also includes up to €5 million in potential bonuses and a 10% sell-on clause in Napoli’s favour.
Crucially, an anti-Serie A clause was inserted, barring Osimhen from joining another Italian club within the next two years.
Although the deal was agreed in principle on July 20, final confirmation only came after all financial guarantees were signed and exchanged this week.
Osimhen’s permanent move to Galatasaray marks one of the biggest incoming transfers in Turkish football history and ends his four-year spell with Napoli.
