Osimhen ruled out of Konyaspor trip

Victor Osimhen has been dropped from Galatasaray’s squad for their Turkish Super Lig fixture against Konyaspor on Saturday as a precautionary measure.
The Istanbul club confirmed the decision on their official X account, stating that the Nigeria international is experiencing pain in his right knee.
The absence is understood to be temporary, with the striker expected to return for the second leg of Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League knockout phase play-off against Juventus F.C..
Precaution ahead of Europe
Osimhen’s omission appears strategic rather than severe. With a decisive European fixture looming, the club has opted to manage his workload and avoid aggravating the issue.
The 27-year-old has been central to Galatasaray’s recent form.

Across his last 10 appearances in all competitions, he has recorded six goals and five assists.
In the Super Lig alone, he has delivered at least one goal contribution in each of his last six matches, scoring in five straight games before providing two assists against Eyüpspor.
His productivity has coincided with a strong run of results for the reigning Turkish champions.
Title push continues
Galatasaray currently sit top of the Super Lig table with 55 points, three clear of second-placed Fenerbahçe. They also lead Group A in the Turkish Cup and remain in contention for a place in the Champions League round of 16.
Saturday’s trip presents a test of squad depth. Galatasaray claimed a 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture in September and will target a league double.
Konyaspor, meanwhile, are 14th with 20 points, two above the relegation zone. Without a league win since October, they face a difficult assignment against the division’s leaders, even without Osimhen in the visiting squad.
