Osimhen inspires Galatasaray win over Alanyaspor with goal, assist

Victor Osimhen scored and provided an assist as Galatasaray defeated Alanyaspor 3-1 in Saturday’s Super Lig encounter, extending their lead at the top of the table.

The Nigerian forward played a decisive role in a tightly contested match, setting up the second goal before sealing the result late on.

The win moves Galatasaray to 58 points, five ahead of Fenerbahce, with Trabzonspor a further two points back in third.

First-half advantage

Galatasaray took the lead just before half-time when Sacha Boey finished off a flowing team move to make it 1-0.

Alanyaspor responded four minutes after the restart as Steve Mounie headed home to bring the visitors level and briefly shift the tide.

Osimhen makes the difference

The hosts regained control before the hour mark. Osimhen attempted an overhead kick inside the area, and the loose ball fell to Lucas Torreira, who struck decisively to restore the lead at 2-1.

Osimhen then added his name to the scoresheet in the 83rd minute after capitalising on an error from goalkeeper Paulo Victor. Intercepting a misplaced pass, the striker rounded the goalkeeper and finished into an empty net to secure the victory.

The result strengthens Galatasaray’s position in the title race and maintains pressure on their closest challengers.

Both sides meet again on Tuesday in the Turkish Cup, where Alanyaspor will look to respond.
