Osimhen headlines 18 Super Eagles stars in Polokwane ahead of Lesotho test

Victor Osimhen leads 18-man Super Eagles contingent as Nigeria officially opened camp at The Ranch Hotel in Polokwane, South Africa, ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.
Head Coach Eric Chelle and his technical staff arrived on Monday to set the tone for a decisive clash that could shape Nigeria’s qualification campaign.
18 players already in camp
By Tuesday, more players had joined the squad, bringing the total number in camp to 18.
Those present include William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Chrisantus Uche, Wilfred Ndidi, Bruno Onyemaechi, Terem Moffi, Moses Simon, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Frank Onyeka, Tolu Arokodare, Semi Ajayi, Stanley Nwabali, Adebayo Adeleye, Amas Obasogie and Benjamin Frederick.
Key absentees yet to report
Zaidu Sanusi (Porto), Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi (New England Revolution), Akor Adams (Sevilla), and Olakunle Olusegun (Pari Nizhny Novgorod) are yet to report to camp. Meanwhile, the first training session has already taken place on Tuesday evening.
Eyes on victory
The Super Eagles will face Lesotho on Friday, October 10, at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
As the three-time African champions chase another World Cup ticket, Chelle’s men are targeting maximum points to strengthen their grip in the qualification race.
