Osimhen header seals derby win for Galatasaray against Ndidi’s Besiktas

Victor Osimhen scored the decisive goal as Galatasaray escaped with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Besiktas in the Istanbul derby at Tüpraş Stadium.
The Nigerian striker struck in the 39th minute, meeting a precise delivery from Leroy Sane with a powerful header that found the bottom corner.
The goal proved enough to separate the sides in a tense contest and keep Galatasaray firmly at the top of the Süper Lig standings.
Sané sent off after assist
Sané’s influence on the match extended beyond the assist, but his evening ended early.

The German winger was shown a straight red card in the 62nd minute after a VAR review for a serious foul on Ridvan Yilmaz.
Reduced to 10 men for the final half-hour, Galatasaray were forced to adopt a more defensive approach as Besiktas increased the pressure.
Cakir stands firm in goal
Besiktas dominated possession with around 60 percent and created numerous chances, finishing the match with 24 attempts on goal.
However, Galatasaray goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir qproduced a standout performance, making seven crucial saves to deny the hosts and preserve the narrow lead.
The victory moves Galatasaray to 61 points at the summit of the Turkish Süper Lig and provides a major boost ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool.
