Osimhen backed for Madrid or Liverpool move

Victor Osimhen has been tipped for a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs following his standout season at Galatasaray, with Turkish analyst Uğur Meleke claiming the striker ranks among the world’s best.

Osimhen has been central to Galatasaray’s push to retain the Süper Lig title and their campaign in the UEFA Champions League, scoring seven goals in the competition, including strikes against Liverpool and Juventus.

He also reached double figures in the league with a goal in the 3-1 win over Alanyaspor at the weekend.

‘Top five striker in the world’

Meleke placed the Nigerian among the elite forwards in global football.

“Victor Osimhen, in my opinion, is one of the top five strikers in the world,” he said. “He’s a player who could be mentioned alongside, and ranked alongside, Haaland, Lewandowski, and Lautaro Martinez.”

He added: “Normally, you wouldn’t expect him to be in the Süper Lig at this age. But sometimes life takes a different path. That’s how Osimhen’s story unfolded.”

Meleke argued that Osimhen’s profile and output make him a natural fit for Europe’s biggest clubs, suggesting a move to Real Madrid, Manchester City or Liverpool would not be surprising.

‘Better than Gyokeres’

The analyst also compared Osimhen favourably with Viktor Gyokeres.

“I think he’s better than Gyokeres,” Meleke said, adding that only a handful of forwards can match the Nigerian’s all-round ability and scoring power.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray from Napoli last summer in a deal reportedly worth €75 million.

Despite mounting interest, club officials have described him as central to their long-term plans and “not for sale.”
