Only APC urban bandits benefit from those insulting Atiku, Obi —Atiku replies X user

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has spoken against insults directed at him and Labour Party LP candidate, Peter Obi, on social media.

Atiku reacted after a social media user accused his supporters of attacking Peter Obi while expecting Atiku to avoid criticism in return.

Social media post sparks reaction

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, a user identified as Everest alleged unfair behaviour by Atiku’s supporters towards the former Anambra State governor.

Everest wrote: “Atiku’s people want to insult Peter Obi without Atiku getting the heat back. Maybe they feel Atiku deserves respect and Peter Obi does not.”

The comment quickly gained attention, prompting Atiku to publicly respond and clarify his position.

Atiku condemns insults, urges unity

Responding directly, Atiku condemned insults against both leaders and warned that such actions harm national unity and opposition cooperation.

He wrote: “Dear Everest, Anyone who insults Obi or Atiku do not mean well for the leaders, the Coalition ADC and for Nigeria and Nigerians.

“The only persons who benefit from such a civil war are the APC urban bandits who want to maintain the satanic status quo. We are better together!”

Call for collective focus

Atiku’s response stressed the need for unity among opposition figures and supporters ahead of future political engagements.

He warned that internal attacks only strengthen political rivals and distract from addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges.

The former vice president’s remarks have since drawn mixed reactions, with many supporters applauding his call for cooperation and mutual respect.
