OFFICIAL: Rosenior signs in as new Chelsea manager until 2032

Chelsea have confirmed Liam Rosenior as the club’s new head coach after the dismissal of Enzo Maresca on new year day.

Recall Rosenior earlier confirmed he has verbally agreed to become Chelsea’s new manager, with the final paperwork expected to be completed within hours.

Meanwhile, a statement from the West London club has now confirmed a deal running until 2032.

“Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s team.

“The Englishman has signed a contract with the club that will take him through to 2032.

“Rosenior arrives at Stamford Bridge after coaching overseas with RC Strasbourg, where he led the French club to European qualification for the first time in 19 years in his first season, and following earlier roles in England with Hull City and Derby County,” the statement read in part.

Coaching staff to follow

The 41-year-old will bring key members of his backroom team to Stamford Bridge. Strasbourg first-team coach Kalifa Cisse, assistant head coach Justin Walker and head of analysis Ben Warner are all set to join him at Chelsea, ensuring operational continuity.

Strasbourg exit and track record

Appointed Strasbourg manager in July 2024, Rosenior led the club to a seventh-place Ligue 1 finish last season, securing European football for the first time in eight years.

His final game was a 1-1 draw away to Nice, Strasbourg’s fifth consecutive league match without a win. They currently sit seventh in Ligue 1 and top of their UEFA Conference League group.

“The last 18 months have been the best of my professional career,” Rosenior said. “I will always care deeply about this club, but Chelsea is an opportunity I simply cannot refuse.”
