Novelist, Chimamanda Adichie’s Father, Prof. J.N Adichie Is Dead

Prof. James Nwoye Adichie, the father of renowned international novelist and author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, is dead.

Adichie died after a brief illness on Wednesday night at Chira Memorial Hospital, Awkuzu, Anambra state.

Until his death, he was an Emeritus Professor of Statistics and Mathematics at the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).

The father of the prominent novelist passed away at the age of 88.

His daughter, Chimamanda Ngozi is prominent for her academic prowess especially in literary works of art.

Popular among her novels are; Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun, We Should All Be Feminists, Americanah etc.
