‘Nothing similar to Galatasaray’ – Osimhen plays down transfer talks

Victor Osimhen has reaffirmed his commitment to Galatasaray insisting he is happy in Istanbul despite confirming past interest from Juventus.
The Nigerian striker, who completed a €75 million permanent move after a successful loan spell, addressed transfer speculation ahead of Galatasaray’s Champions League clash with the Italian side.
While acknowledging that Juventus had explored a deal, Osimhen made clear that his focus remains firmly on his current club.
“Yes, just as I could be at two other top Serie A clubs today. Before negotiations with Galatasaray began, [Cristiano] Giuntoli called me to bring me to Juve,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I spoke to a couple of people at the club, and they showed interest, but I knew he [Aurelio De Laurentiis] wouldn’t let me go. In any case, the interest was definitely there. And when Juve calls you, regardless of everything, you have to sit down and listen.”
“Nothing similar to Gala”
Despite the approach from Turin, Osimhen emphasised his satisfaction in Turkey and dismissed suggestions of immediate movement.
“I am at a club and city I absolutely love. I’ve been lucky to find Galatasaray on my way. There’s nothing similar to Gala and the love from the fans,” he said.
The 27-year-old has justified the club’s investment, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 22 appearances this season.
He has also netted six times in the Champions League, underlining his importance to Galatasaray’s European ambitions.
Focus on silverware
Osimhen played a key role in delivering domestic success last season and has shifted his attention toward continental progress.
“We did great in Turkey. Now it’s time to show our quality in Europe,” he added.
