‘Not my problem’ – Amad Diallo distances self from Garnacho, Rashford exile at Man United

Manchester United forward Amad Diallo has distanced himself from the ongoing fallout involving teammates Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford, both of whom have been exiled from the first team under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Following United’s goalless draw with Leeds United in their first pre-season friendly, Amad addressed reporters in Stockholm and offered a blunt response when asked about the uncertain futures of Garnacho and Rashford.
“The only thing I can say is good luck to him, but I’m more focused on United and my team,” the 23-year-old said when asked about Rashford, who is reportedly close to joining Barcelona on loan with an option to buy.
On Garnacho, his close friend and former academy teammate, Amad offered even less sympathy: “I think this is not really my problem. The only thing I’m thinking right now is how we will learn together as a team.”
Garnacho and Rashford headline a group of five players, alongside Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia, who have been told they have no future under Amorim.
Despite interest from Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Tottenham, United are yet to receive formal offers for Garnacho and may be forced to reduce their asking price.
Amad was more forthcoming about new signing Matheus Cunha, who featured briefly in Stockholm:
“He’s a good player, we need good players in the team and he’ll bring a lot to the team. Especially last season, we missed a lot of good players in the final third. I just wish him all the best.”
United continue their pre-season tour in the United States, facing West Ham next Sunday in New Jersey.
