Nine-man PSG stun Bayern Munich to book Club World Cup semi-final spot

Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the semi-finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with a dramatic 2-0 win over Bayern Munich, despite being reduced to nine men.
Desire Doue broke the deadlock in the 78th minute with a low finish, and Ousmane Dembele sealed the result with a stoppage-time goal, as the Ligue 1 champions held off a late Bayern surge at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
The first half ended goalless, but it was marred by a worrying injury to Jamal Musiala.
The German playmaker, making his first start of the tournament, collided awkwardly with Donnarumma while pursuing a loose ball.
Musiala clutched his ankle in agony, prompting immediate intervention from Bayern’s medical team.
The visibly shaken Donnarumma was unable to watch as Musiala was treated on the field.
PSG took control in the second half, with Bradley Barcola forcing a reflex save from Manuel Neuer before Doue’s opener changed the game.
However, disciplinary issues nearly cost them: Willian Pacho received a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Leon Goretzka, and Lucas Hernandez was sent off in stoppage time for a late tackle on Raphael Guerreiro.
The win also marked a symbolic moment for Bayern as veteran Thomas MĂĽller, introduced late in the game, made his final appearance for the club.
PSG will now face either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals.
