A man on social media has sparked widespread debate after calling for the sacking of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle.
This call followed Nigeria’s 4-2 semi-final defeat to AFCON 2025 host nation Morocco.
The user expressed disappointment that after losing to DR Congo via penalties in the World Cup qualifiers, Chelle had not trained the team specifically for penalty shootouts.

The X user, identified as Dr Penking, voiced frustration over Samuel Chukwueze’s missed penalty against Morocco.
Dr Penking said: “You would think that after losing to DR Congo via penalties, he would invest his time into training for penalties and discover the team’s best penalty players, but no, he threw history to the wind and trained only for open play again. Time for Eric Chelle to be returned to Marlians. He is not serious.”
