Nigerians react to video of Nigeria’s first cross dresser ‘Area Scatter’

Currently trending on social media is an old video of a cross dresser from Imo state in the 1970s.

Identified as Area Scatter, he is believed to be one of the few cross dressers who made it into the mainstream media.

According to reports, he was a musician who played melodic music with his ornamental thumb piano, singing in a rich voice and moving his body in an unusual yet that fascinated a lot of people ranging from street urchins to royalty.

Legend he was a civil servant who disappeared into the wilderness at some point during the years of the war, only to re-emerge 7 months and 7 days later, as a woman.

Area Scatter claimed that the gods gave him supernatural powers which he used to enhance his musical talent and become more feminine.

In the video seen online, Area Scatter can be seen dressed in a top and wrapper with feminine shoes on and his hair plaited with thread.

The transgender is seen walking to a palace in the east, in which he performs in the presence of the king who seemed pretty impressed by him.

The fact that Area Scatter was a transgender in the 70s, has left many people in shock at how celebrated he was, enough to even perform in the presence of royalty.
