Nigerian Army clears air on Gen. Braimah’s death, confirms 4 casualties in Borno attack

The Nigerian Army has debunked reports claiming that Brigadier General Oseni Braimah died due to an unserviceable vehicle during a recent attack in Borno State.
The Army also dismissed claims that 17 soldiers were k!lled in the incident, insisting that only four personnel lost their lives during the attack.
“These narratives, often amplified with unrelated pictures and videos, are not only inaccurate but constitute a deliberate attempt to distort facts, undermine ongoing military operations and erode public confidence,” said Lt. Col. Sanni Uba of Operation Hadin Kai.
According to the Army, the verified casualty figure shows that two officers and two soldiers died during the attack on the military base in Benisheikh, located in Borno State.
The military further stressed that any reports suggesting higher casualty figures are false and should be disregarded by the public.
“The official and verified report clearly stated that 2 officers and 2 soldiers paid the supreme price. Any contrary figure being circulated is entirely false, misleading, and devoid of credibility,” he added.
The clarification comes amid widespread reports and speculation surrounding the incident, as the military urges Nigerians to rely only on verified information.
