Nigeria vs South Africa: Arokodare to lead Super Eagles attack in crucial qualifier

Tolu Arokodare is expected to lead Super Eagles attack when they face South Africa in a decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
Nigeria will be without first-choice forward Victor Osimhen, who picked up an injury during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Rwanda and has since returned to Galatasaray for treatment.
Arokodare, who came off the bench to score the all important goal against the Amavubi, was named Player of the Match in Uyo.
His performance has boosted confidence in his ability to fill the void left by Osimhen.
Head coach Eric Chelle is set to place his trust in the 24-year-old, who has already scored twice in five appearances for the national team.
Nigeria head into the clash in Bloemfontein needing a positive result to close the gap on Group C leaders South Africa.
