“Nigeria is better than it was three years ago, we don’t give government enough credit,” — Billionaire’s son, Wahab Okoya

Billionaire’s son, Wahab Okoya, has stirred debate on social media after stating that Nigeria is better today than it was three years ago, arguing that the government is not receiving enough credit for visible improvements.

Okoya, who made the remark during a public conversation, said the changes are especially noticeable to Nigerians who studied abroad and later returned home.

According to him, the difference in infrastructure, lifestyle, and general environment is clear when compared to previous years.

If you compare Nigeria today to Nigeria three years ago, we are getting better,” Okoya said. “For us that go to school abroad and come back, the change is so visible. We are not giving the government enough credit.”

His comments, however, quickly sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians pushing back against his assessment, insisting that economic hardship, rising costs of living, and insecurity still define daily life for the majority of citizens.
