NFF’s reaction

In a statement released by its General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, on Tuesday, the NFF hailed Nnadozie’s achievement and expressed confidence she will go on to clinch the top prize in the near future.

“Congratulations to @NGSuper_Falcons safe hands Chiamaka Nnadozie on her fourth-place finish at this year’s Ballon d’Or Ceremony,” the statement read in part.

“It is a commendable feat given the calibre of goalkeepers she was up against. We believe in her capacity to win this trophy very soon.”

Madugu also recognised

Meanwhile, Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu also received recognition, finishing fourth in the Women’s Coach of the Year category. That award was claimed by England boss Sarina Wiegman.
