Newcastle’s Isak trains alone, demands £300k wage weekly

Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle United is one to watch following reports of him training alone and issuing hefty wage demands of £300k.
This according to talkSPORT has sparked concern from both fans and former players.
The Swedish striker, who has drawn interest from Liverpool and clubs in Saudi Arabia, was notably absent from Newcastle’s recent pre-season friendly against Celtic.
Manager Eddie Howe stated the decision was to shield Isak from mounting transfer speculation.
Despite assurances that the 25-year-old would join the squad for their Asia tour, images emerged Tuesday showing him training in isolation.
The same day, talkSPORT reported that Isak has asked Newcastle for a staggering £300,000-per-week salary, well above the club’s existing wage structure.
Former Magpies midfielder Kevin Nolan weighed in on the situation, suggesting that Howe may be taking preemptive action for the benefit of squad harmony.
“If a player comes in with that attitude, you’ve got to make a decision for the rest of the squad,” Nolan said. “That may have happened if he’s training on his own.”
Nolan also acknowledged the possibility of personal reasons behind the isolated training.
“It could be family-related. Sometimes players are given space and then reintegrated.”
Since joining from Real Sociedad in 2022, Isak has scored 62 goals in 109 appearances, making him a vital asset for Newcastle.
