Ndavi Nokeri was born on January 25, 1999, in Tzaneen, Limpopo, South Africa. She is the youngest and only child of Pastor Betty and Moses Nokeri, who are both ardent Christians and members of God’s Grace Ministry.
Ndavi grew up in a happy and caring household with six siblings: Ntwanano, Nyiko, Fanisa, Cindy, Molcy, and Vutchilo.
She went to Tzaneen Primary School and Merensky High School, where she excelled academically and participated in a variety of extracurricular activities, including chorus, drama, and sports. She was also a popular and sociable student, with a large number of friends and admirers.
She joined her first pageant at the age of 13 and earned the title of Miss Teen Limpopo. She continued to compete in local and regional pageants, earning numerous titles and honours. She also joined a modelling agency and began to receive modelling tasks and contracts.
After finishing high school, Ndavi proceeded to Pretoria, South Africa’s capital city, to further her education. She went to the University of Pretoria and earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce in 2021.
Career
She balanced her schooling and modelling career while also pursuing entrepreneurial and philanthropic interests. She established Ndavi, a clothing line with African-inspired designs and textiles.
She also started the Ndavi Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and educating young girls and women in rural South Africa. Nokeri began her pageant career in 2022, when she competed in the 64th edition of Miss South Africa and placed in the top 30.
She was crowned Miss South Africa 2022 at the finale on August 13, 2022, succeeding Lalela Mswane. As Miss South Africa, she used her position to promote education, youth empowerment, and equal opportunity for women in rural regions.
Nokeri continued her pageant career in 2023 by representing her country, South Africa, at Miss Universe 2022. She also demonstrated her singing ability by performing a rendition of Beyoncé’s “Halo”.
On August 13, 2022, she won Miss South Africa 2022, being the first woman from Limpopo province to do so. She was awarded R1 million in cash, a car, a fancy flat, and other goodies.
She also became South Africa’s official ambassador and spokesperson for a number of issues and projects, including women’s empowerment, education, health, and the environment.
