Napoli eye Arokodare as potential Lukaku replacement

Napoli are closely monitoring Tolu Arokodare as a possible replacement should Romelu Lukaku’s thigh injury rule him out for a significant spell.
The Genk striker has been on the radar of the Partenopei since early July, even before Lukaku’s setback, and is viewed as a natural heir to the Belgian forward given his similar playing style.
While names like Manchester United’s Rasmus Højlund and Roma’s Artem Dovbyk have surfaced in transfer discussions, Arokodare stands out as a strong candidate for Antonio Conte’s squad.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international enjoyed a prolific campaign last season, netting 23 goals and providing seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.
Signed from Amiens for €5 million in January 2023, Arokodare has since developed into a key figure for KRC Genk and continues to draw attention with his physical presence and goal-scoring ability.
Napoli are now waiting for Lukaku’s medical update before making a final decision, but Arokodare is favourite on their shortlist should the club be forced back into the market.
