A Nigerian lady has gone viral after accusing community leaders of unfairness and a lack of transparency over her mother’s property.

In a viral video, the lady claimed that a company paid a huge sum for a piece of land partly owned by her mother, but her family was allegedly sidelined in the process.

Alleged Dispute Over Property Payment

According to her, a company reportedly paid ₦725 million for the land. However, she alleged that despite her mother owning a 75 percent stake in the property, the family was not carried along during negotiations.

She further claimed that they were later informed that her mother’s share was just ₦11 million, an amount she described as unfair.

Concerns for Affected Residents

The lady also highlighted the struggles of people living in the area, noting that many residents depend on small-scale activities like fishing, selling firewood, and other minor jobs to survive.

Alleged Treatment by Community Leadership

She revealed that attempts to seek clarification from the community leadership were unsuccessful.

According to her, after rejecting the ₦11 million offer, she was allegedly dismissed and told to take the matter to court.

She expressed disappointment over the response, questioning whether such treatment was appropriate from a community leader.

Call for Justice and Transparency

The lady insisted that her actions were not to fight authority but to demand fairness, transparency, and proper investigation into the matter.

In her words: “I go speak the truth no matter what thing happen about everything that they do with my mama property. One company come pay 725 million naira for this land where you dey see so. But my mama get 75 percent of these properties and nobody carry am along. Now them tell us say her own share na just N11 million.

For here no get big work. Some they sell firewood, some dey separate winkle, some dey go fishing, others they do small work just to survive.

If them come send them out their settlement like this without plan, where dem won go? Pls we are only asking for transparency and fairness. Make them investigate this matter well well. I no go keep quiet until justice is done. Abeg share this video make e reach people wey go help us…

…We went to meet the council chairman of the community to seek explanation. Instead of answer, I was sent away after rejecting the 11 million naira offer. We were told to go to court. Na this how a council man should treat his people? We are not fighting authority. We are only asking for fairness and transparency.”
