“My heart was beating fast” – Lady shares why online boyfriend was arrested
A Nigerian lady’s post about why her online boyfriend was arrested by security operatives has gone viral online.
The lady, @ARIAREIGN180683 on X (formerly Twitter), shared that she crossed paths with her online boyfriend via Snapchat.

According to the lady, her boyfriend, whose identity remains unknown, sends her money regularly.
In the tweet that has left social media buzzing, she disclosed he paid her 3 years’ house rent.
”He told me he came from a very wealthy family of generational wealth. I even lied to him my rent has expired he sent me money for three years payment. Bro was basically funding my needs and doing everything“, The tweet reads in part.
Lady Gets Invited By Online Boyfriend
However, after 3 months of dating, her online boyfriend invited her to Benin, where he resides, and sent her N600k for flight.
During preparation, she showed her boyfriend’s photo to a friend, who claimed he nearly used her for rituals.
Sharing the aftermath of her friend’s confession, the lady narrated, “So I was still secretly making arrangements to meet him. The next day my body wasn’t moving me to go so I lied to him something came up and the money was gone,I fabricated a story, he sent another 700k and said I should start coming“.
In a turning twist, she discovered her online boyfriend had been arrested for murder.
Sharing how she reacted to the discovery, @ARIAREIGN180683 narrated, “My phone fell from my hand, my heart was beating fast I was so scared,I screamed,coz of the shock. This could have been me my mind kept singing. Before you knew the news was everywhere on tiktok, everywhere. I was so happy I hadn’t gone .my friend was very happy too. That was how God saved my life. He’s still in jail I pray he remains there”.
