“My dad was kidnapped years back, we still don’t know his current state” – BBNaija Bells reveals
Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Bells has opened up about the painful experience of having her military father kidnapped years ago, revealing that her family still does not know his current whereabouts.
Speaking in an interview with Herodanielstv, Bells explained that the incident happened before she turned 20, while she was writing her second-semester examination.

She recalled that her father was the first person to contact her after he was kidnapped, but communication with him became difficult because of his military duties.
“My dad was kidnapped years back. Currently, we do not know his current state. They requested for money, but later rejected the idea, and they said they were going to just keep him in the camp.
My dad was in the military. This happened before I turned 20. I can remember when this happened, I was writing my second-semester exam when this call came through,” she recounted.
Bells revealed that her family initially did not find his absence unusual because he could sometimes go months without contacting them due to his military assignments.
She recalled how they eventually reached him and he explained that he had tried to escape but was caught and taken to one of the camps. He later informed them that the captors were moving to Chad and that he might not be able to communicate for some time.
“Part of me feels like that was like a goodbye call. The military said it wasn’t, that they would have known if something had happened to him because those people would have sent them the information. So hopefully, we still have faith that he’s alive,” she added.
Bells’ revelation has drawn attention online, with viewers sympathising with her over the uncertainty surrounding her father’s fate.
