Musiala collapses after scoring for Bayern Munich against Leipzig
Jamal Musiala suffered a worrying moment during Bayern Munich’s 3-1 pre-season victory over RB Leipzig on Saturday, collapsing just minutes after scoring the hosts’ third goal.
The Germany international went down in the opposition half and appeared to briefly lose consciousness before Bayern’s medical team rushed to his aid.

Musiala had scored in the 81st minute after combining with new signing Ismael Saibari, but the celebrations were quickly replaced by concern at the Allianz Arena.
Musiala receives medical attention
Saibari was among the first Bayern players to reach Musiala and immediately called for medical assistance.
Referee Robert Hartmann stopped play as the emergency doctor came onto the pitch to assess the 23-year-old.
Musiala eventually got back on his feet and walked off the field, although he appeared unsteady and shaken. He was replaced by Senegalese youngster Bara Njie in the 86th minute.
The exact cause of the episode was not immediately established.
Reports from SID and Sport1 said Musiala experienced dizziness, weakness and circulatory problems during the match, which was played in temperatures of around 33 degrees Celsius.
Bayern captain Manuel Neuer said the club was waiting for more information.
“It will become clear what it was. But of course we are keeping our fingers crossed,” Neuer told MagentaTV.
Bayern provide update on midfielder
Bayern sporting board member Max Eberl later offered a more reassuring update on Musiala’s condition.
“He’s doing well, that’s the most important thing,” Eberl told Bild.
Eberl added that initial examinations by Bayern’s medical team had not revealed anything concerning and that Musiala would rest and recover over the coming days.
The midfielder was not Bayern’s only injury concern during the match.
Konrad Laimer was forced off after taking a knock that caused his foot to swell, while Min-jae Kim was substituted after suffering a thigh problem.
Despite the concerns, Bayern completed another pre-season victory.
Luis Diaz opened the scoring before Brajan Gruda equalised for Leipzig. Nathanael Brown restored Bayern’s lead before Musiala’s late goal completed the 3-1 win.
Bayern will play one more friendly against Heidenheim on Tuesday before facing Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup next weekend.
