His return to the leadership role came after the nomination of Noheem Adams, a former Majority Leader and representative of Eti-Osa Constituency I. However, the assembly members voted in favor of Obasa, securing his reappointment as Speaker.
Obasa, a seasoned lawmaker, has previously served multiple terms as Speaker, making him one of the longest-serving leaders of the Lagos Assembly. His re-election is expected to maintain continuity in the legislative direction of the House.
