Monnapule Saleng (born March 13, 1998) is a South African professional soccer winger who represents Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. and the South African national team. He was crowned MTN 8 Last Man Standing and DSTV Premiership Players’ Player of the Season at the 2023 PSL Awards.

Saleng was born on March 13, 1998, in Boitumelong, Bloemhof, North West Province, South Africa. The player enjoyed playing football from a young age.

Career

Saleng began his career with Orbit College in the SAFA Second Division and joined Free State Stars in 2019. He was the leading scorer in the 2020-21 National First Division, with 13 goals in 29 games.

Saleng joined South African Premier Division club Orlando Pirates in July 2021, but spent the 2021-22 season on loan with Moroka Swallows, where he scored twice in 22 league games.

He returned to Pirates for the 2022-23 season, when he established himself as a first-team regular, scoring five goals in eight games during the first half of the season. He was loaned to old club Orbit College for the first part of the 2025/26 season when they were promoted to the Premiership.

Saleng joined with Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa’s Premier Division in January of 2026. Saleng was part of South Africa’s 2021 COSAFA Cup squad, starting in the opening 1-0 victory over Botswana. He made six appearances as South Africa won the championship. Saleng was called up to the South African side in November 2022 for two friendly matches against Angola and Mozambique.
