Mohbad: Police lists names of 5 suspects involved in singer’s death
The Nigerian police has named five suspects under probe and interrogation over the murder of the late singer Mohbad.
An auxiliary nurse, Ms Feyisayo Ogedengbe, Splendid, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Primeboy are being interrogated in connection with Mohbad’s death.
The police commissioner provided updates on the investigation, revealing details about the administration of injections and the events leading to Mohbad’s death
The Commissioner of Police identified Ms Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, as the prime suspect in Mohbad’s death.
She allegedly administered multiple and highly potent injections to the singer, consisting of Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol, and Cetrazone, at his residence on September 12.
The injections triggered an immediate reaction, including vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions.
The police commissioner revealed that Ms Feyisayo Ogedengbe was unqualified to perform the role of a home nurse and administered the injections in a non-clinical environment.
“She is supposed to administer the injections as an unqualified nurse and she also did it in a non-clinical environment,” he said.
Her actions were deemed professionally negligent, leading to the tragic outcome. The investigation aims to determine the extent of her involvement and hold her accountable for her actions.
According to the commissioner, Splendid was allegedly involved in inviting an unqualified nurse to administer a potent medication, which triggered reactions leading to Mohbad’s unfortunate demise.
He said, “Splendid was complicit in inviting the unqualified nurse to administer a potent medication that triggered reactions leading to Mohbad’s death.”
In addition to Splendid, another suspect, Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owodunni, also known as Primeboy and described as a childhood friend of Mohbad, attended a show with the singer on September 10.
A physical altercation between the two resulted in Mohbad’s injury, ultimately leading to his tragic death.
Furthermore, Sam Larry, whose real name is Samson Balogun, has been arrested for alleged complicity in the singer’s death and in relation to viral videos involving bullying and assault.
Similarly, Abdul-Aziz Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has also been detained over similar allegations.
