MKO Abiola’s wife passes away

Dr. Doyin Abiola, the wife of late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola has passed away.
According to sources ,she passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 82, after a brief illness.
During her life time, Dr. Abiola was a renowned journalist and the first Nigerian woman to become the editor-in-chief of a national daily newspaper.
She began her journalism career in 1969 at the Daily Sketch and popular column titled “Tiro,” addressing social and gender-related issues.
Additionally, she served as the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of National Concord for over three decades, shaping Nigeria’s media landscape and advocating for women’s rights.
