A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions on social media after making a blunt claim about why many men prefer so-called “independent women” in relationships.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @Teniola, she argued that the attraction is often less about admiration and more about financial convenience.
According to her, many men prefer dating women who earn their own money because it makes borrowing easier.
In her words, she said:
“The reason why men want an independent woman is to borrow money from them. There’s no woman I know that hasn’t borrowed a guy money.”
