Marseille dismiss Neymar transfer rumours as ‘complete nonsense’

Olympique de Marseille have denied reports linking them with a move for Brazilian forward Neymar, dismissing the speculation as “complete nonsense.”

Claims originating from TyC Sports had suggested Neymar, currently at Santos, was eyeing a return to Ligue 1, with Marseille named as a potential landing spot.

The 33-year-old has struggled to regain form since rejoining his boyhood club in January, facing fitness issues, fan backlash, and off-field controversies.

However, a senior Marseille official told Le Parisien that the club has made no approach and has no interest in pursuing the former PSG star.

Instead, Marseille are focused on completing a deal for Feyenoord’s Brazilian attacker Igor Paixão, 25, who is expected to join the club this week.

The Ligue 1 side are also working on a deal to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 36, back to the club.
