Marcus Rashford arrives Barcelona to finalize loan move

Marcus Rashford has arrived Barcelona ahead of completing a season-long loan move from Manchester United to the Spanish champions.
According to the BBC, the England international landed in Catalonia via private jet and is expected to sign a deal that includes an option for Barcelona to make the transfer permanent next season.
Talks between Manchester United and Barcelona progressed rapidly last week, with Blaugrana manager Hansi Flick approving the deal.
The La Liga champions are in the market for a left winger, and Rashford fits the profile.
This marks Rashford’s second loan move in less than a year, following a temporary stint at Aston Villa during the second half of the 2024/25 season.
The 26-year-old had fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under manager Ruben Amorim, with Barcelona reportedly always being his preferred destination.
Flick plans to deploy Rashford on the left wing, despite his versatility to play centrally.
With Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres occupying the striker role, Rashford is expected to operate primarily from the flanks.
There are indications Rashford could inherit one of the club’s iconic squad numbers, possibly previously worn by Lamine Yamal or Thierry Henry.
Recall Barcelona have confirmed that Yamal will now wear the No.10 shirt going forward.
