Manchester United suffer injury blow as Dorgu sidelined for 10 weeks

Manchester United have suffered injury setback after Patrick Dorgu was forced off during Sunday’s 3-2 Premier League victory over Arsenal, with the defender reportedly looking at a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Dorgu, 21, was one of United’s standout performers at the Emirates Stadium and scored a crucial goal to put his side 2-1 ahead.
However, his night ended prematurely when he pulled up while chasing a long ball in the closing stages and required treatment before being substituted.
Initial assessments suggest the Denmark international has suffered a hamstring injury. According to reports, the issue could rule him out for up to 10 weeks, although United are still evaluating the extent of the damage.

Carrick urges caution
Interim head coach Michael Carrick admitted after the match that there was uncertainty around the severity of the problem and expressed hope that it was not serious.
“He obviously came off with, hopefully, a little bit of cramp,” Carrick said. “At this stage, it’s hard to tell, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully it’s not too bad.”
A prolonged absence would be a blow for United, with Dorgu having become a key figure under Carrick following his appointment earlier this month.
Impact on United’s run-in
If the projected timeline is confirmed, Dorgu could miss around eight matches, including fixtures against Aston Villa, Newcastle and Tottenham.
A potential return date could be the derby clash with Leeds United in mid-April, with a trip to Chelsea scheduled shortly after.
Dorgu has made 22 Premier League appearances this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists. His role has evolved over the campaign, having previously been used further forward under former manager Ruben Amorim.
United, currently pushing for a Champions League place, will be hoping the injury proves less serious than feared and that Dorgu can return in time for the decisive final stretch of the season.
