Manchester United Submit €85m bid for Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko
Manchester United have submitted a formal offer worth €85 million for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, comprising €75 million upfront and €10 million in add-ons.
The bid aligns with United’s valuation of the 22-year-old, and the club reportedly believes Sesko is open to joining them. Leipzig are yet to respond.
United had made initial contact earlier in the summer and made Sesko a priority target should they pursue another forward.
The move follows Newcastle’s improved offer after their original €75m plus €5m bid was rejected.
Sesko has drawn interest from multiple Premier League clubs. Newcastle’s pursuit is tied to uncertainty over Alexander Isak’s future, with the Swede pushing for an exit after Liverpool’s £110m approach was turned down. Arsenal also tracked Sesko before opting for Viktor Gyokeres, while Chelsea chose Liam Delap and Joao Pedro instead.
United have already bolstered their frontline this summer with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
While they also considered Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, the valuation proved prohibitive.
Sesko scored 21 goals for Leipzig last season and has netted 39 goals with eight assists in 87 appearances since arriving from RB Salzburg in 2023. His contract at Leipzig runs until 2029.
