Manchester United open to loan offers for Amad Diallo

Manchester United are considering loaning out winger Amad Diallo in January, with Southampton leading the race for his signature.

Southampton who are currently being managed by Russell Martin, are eager to secure a loan deal for the Ivorian player.

The club had shown interest in Diallo during the summer transfer window, but a knee injury disrupted their plans.

However, they are now positioned fourth in the Championship, making them an attractive prospect for the player’s development.

Football Insider reports that Manchester United are also open to loaning him out, with Southampton’s bid likely to be accepted.

Diallo joined Manchester United from Atalanta in January 2021 for a reported £37 million.

Since then, he has only made nine appearances and scored once for the club across all competitions.

Before his move to Manchester United, the youngster had a successful stint at Atalanta, where he scored once in five senior appearances.

He then went on loan to Rangers, scoring three goals in 13 appearances for the Scottish Premiership side.

In the 2022/23 season, he enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Sunderland in the Championship, scoring 14 goals in 42 appearances.

At just 21 years old, Diallo has represented the Ivory Coast national team, scoring once in four appearances since his debut in 2021.

He has also been named in the Ivory Coast preliminary 40-man squad for the upcoming 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.
