Man who knew Destiny Boy since childhood says he did ‘Money Rituals’

A man who claims to have known the late Nigerian Afrofuji singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has sparked controversy online, alleging that the singer’s untimely death was linked to money rituals performed by babalawos.
In a post circulating on social media, the man insisted that Destiny Boy’s death was not accidental but the result of spiritual practices the singer was too young to handle.
He stated that he had known Destiny Boy long before the singer rose to fame and said he is prepared to provide proof to back his claims.
Babalawos Accused of Misleading Young Celebrities
According to him, babalawos often perform rituals for young people without explaining the potential consequences.
This, he said, leaves them exposed to spiritual and physical risks they cannot manage.
Tragic Timing of Destiny Boy’s Death
The post highlighted that Destiny Boy had just welcomed his first child before his death, making the loss even more tragic.
The man criticized the babalawos for performing rituals on someone so young, arguing that the singer should never have been exposed to such dangerous practices.
In his words:
“Not all young people who die must be pitied. Some bring it upon themselves. Discontentment has killed some people. It is not everyone we must write RIP for. Did he himself wish to rest in peace? All the spirits he conjured will not let him.
You unfortunate babalawo who did rituals for him, don’t you know this boy was too young? You should have done it for someone whose age could handle it. You see, Destiny’s death is because he ran faster than destiny.
I am not the type to come online and talk without proof. I have known Destiny for a long time, even before he came into the limelight. I say it boldly that Destiny’s problem came from you babalawos. Anyone who says I am lying should come out and challenge me, then I will bring out proofs.
It shall not be well with you, babalawo. Why are you doing strong rituals for young people, something you cannot do for yourself because of the repercussions? But once they have money, even if it is ₦10 million, they give it to you and it is fine by you, because you know you will not bear the consequences with them.
How old was he? He had just welcomed his first child for crying out loud. Now, because you want to promote tradition, you want to kill all the youth…”
