Man sparks debate, questions why Muslims rush to touch the Black Stone in Mecca following Asake’s viral video

A Nigerian man has stirred conversation online after questioning why many Muslims are eager to touch the Black Stone in Mecca.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @tenniolla, he made the remark after seeing popular Nigerian singer Asake among pilgrims struggling to get close to the sacred stone during pilgrimage.
Curious about the act, he openly wondered why even wealthy and successful people still struggle to touch it.
According to him, he believes the singer already has everything in life, so he could not understand what more he might be seeking.
In his words, he said:
“Between me and you, make we no lie to ourselves. Muslim people, what is in your religion that you’re hiding? What is Asake still looking for in this life that he doesn’t have, yet he’s struggling to touch the Black Stone in Mecca?”
He further said he was now interested in travelling to the holy city himself to see what the experience is like.
“Please give me a Muslim name, I’m going to Mecca to touch it too,” he added.
His statement quickly drew mixed reactions online, with some people explaining the religious significance of the stone, while others criticised the way he framed his question.
