Man shares chat with viral graduate who was criticised for her wig, screenshot goes viral

A Nigerian man has shared how he reached out to a young graduate who became the subject of online ridicule after a video of her graduation ceremony went viral.

The graduate, identified as Kunmi, was mocked on social media over the wig she wore during the ceremony after a TikTok user posted the video.

In a post on X, the man explained that he searched for Kunmi’s account and contacted her privately. During their conversation, he asked for her bank details, telling her that many people wanted to support and appreciate her.

After Kunmi sent her account number and thanked him, the man said he shared her story on X, where several well-meaning Nigerians contributed financial assistance to support her.

He urged people to choose compassion over ridicule, stressing that no one should be mocked because of their circumstances, regardless of gender.
