Man rewards kindness with ₦500,000 after returning from Dubai

A Nigerian man who recently returned from Dubai has shown appreciation to someone who supported him years ago by gifting him ₦500,000.
The man explained that before traveling abroad in 2017, he had very little financial support. At the time, only two people assisted him as he prepared for the journey.
According to him, one of those who stood by him was a man who gave him ₦10,000, some clothes, and also prayed for him before he left Nigeria.
Recalling the moment, he said:
“When I wanted to go to Dubai in 2017, I didn’t have much money, I remember he gave me 10 thousand Naira. In fact he was one of the only two people who supported my Dubai journey. He gave me 10 thousand Naira and my uncle gave me 20 thousand Naira. That was the only money people gave to me when I was traveling, other money was my money. He gave me 10k, some clothes and also prayed for me when I was traveling.”
Years later, after returning home, he decided to appreciate the gesture by rewarding the man with ₦500,000, a move that has drawn praise online for highlighting the value of remembering those who offer support during difficult times.

@Goodnationz said: “Why did he give him only 500k
What can 500k buy in this current economy??”
@itsAdindu remarked: “Evaluating cumulative inflation over 9 years, 10k in purchasing power now in 2026 is roughly 36k to 38k. So, 38k x 9yrs = 342, 000 (2017-2026)
Now; 500,000-342,000 =158,000
With the purchasing power in 2026, let’s say he gave him 158,000.😂
But in all, Kudos to the young man”
@youdecraze opined: “To me this is cheating. 10k in 2017 is worth over 1 million in 2026 if you check the value. So why give him just 500k? He should’ve just kept his money.”
