Man praises wife, shares how they spent less than N450K on their entire wedding ceremony

A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after sharing how he and his wife spent less than ₦450,000 on their entire wedding ceremony, despite the rising cost of living.

The man identified as @Drifead shared his story on X ( formerly Twitter), explaining that their decision was based on understanding their financial capabilities and focusing on what truly mattered.

“God Will Keep Blessing My Wife”

In his post, the man praised his wife for standing by him and agreeing to a simple wedding.

According to him, the wedding was modest but meaningful, and both of them were comfortable with the decision.

Breakdown of Wedding Expenses

The man went ahead to list how much they spent on different parts of the wedding, a breakdown that surprised many Nigerians online.

He wrote:

“God will keep blessing my wife for me. The total money my wife and I spent on our wedding didn’t even reach ₦450,000.

₦20,000 for pictures, about ₦100,000 for our outfits, ₦40,000 for one night in a hotel.

The next day, I moved in with my wife in her self-contained apartment. As a married man, I didn’t even have a bed of my own.

It was our wedding, not everyone’s wedding, so there was no need to wear ourselves out. It was about knowing our limits and understanding what we could and couldn’t afford.”
