Man outsmarts alleged scammer after ₦100,000 transfer trick

A Nigerian man has shared how he narrowly avoided falling victim to a suspected scam involving a ₦100,000 bank transfer.
According to his account, an unknown individual sent the money to his OPay account and immediately called him, requesting that the funds be returned, but to a different account.
Sensing foul play, the man chose to return the money to the original sender’s account instead of following the caller’s instructions.
He explained that the situation quickly became tense after he refused to comply, noting how scammers are now adopting more sophisticated tactics to deceive unsuspecting individuals.
In the video shared online, he was heard confronting the scammer over the incident.

“You think I don’t know what you want to do? You want to use me as middle man okwa ya? Hope you’re not m@d. I have refunded the money back, I for Comot my 100 Naira and forwarded N99,900 to you but I forwarded everything back to you completely trying to be a good citizen, why are the accoun numbers different…”
