Man gives Osimhen 24-hour ultimatum to return ₦3 billion house, invest money to help poor Nigerians
A viral social media video has sparked widespread debate in Nigeria after a man criticised Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen over his recent reported luxury property purchase.
The comments have triggered mixed reactions online, with many defending the football star’s right to spend his earnings.
In the trending clip, the man questioned Osimhen’s financial choices and called the purchase of a multi-billion-naira house a “mistake,” while urging him to redirect his wealth into investments that benefit Nigerians.
Criticism of luxury spending
The man repeatedly expressed disapproval of the footballer’s alleged property purchase, saying:
“Osimhen, so you get mind, go buy house of 3 billion Naira. Osimhen, you get mind, go buy house of 3 billion Naira. Bro, that’s financial mistake.”
He further challenged the footballer’s impact on ordinary Nigerians, adding:
“Bro, Osimhen, what have we gained from you since you don become a superstar? Nigerian poor masses, what have we gained from you? Nothing.”
According to him, wealthy Nigerian entertainers and athletes should do more for society rather than focus on luxury lifestyles.
Call for investment in Nigeria
The man argued that public figures should prioritise development projects and job creation, especially in the face of economic hardship.
“I no say make you no enjoy your money but sometimes as government no care for us, una wey get money, dey show love sometimes to the poor masses,” he said.
He suggested that Osimhen should sell the property and invest in cheaper housing and local development initiatives.
“Go and turn that house and collect your money back… Use the money, come and invest in your country and employ workers. That’s how you can develop your country,” he added.
Comparisons with other celebrities
The speaker also referenced other Nigerian celebrities, including Victor Osimhen and singer Burna Boy, arguing that some stars show more social awareness in their spending choices.
He also mentioned an exchange involving content creator Carter Efe, where Osimhen reportedly ranked football over music in earnings.
“Ok, what have we gain from you Osimhen?… Una should learn from Burna Boy. That boy is trying a lot,” he said.
Emotional appeal and rural development concerns
The man also spoke emotionally about rural underdevelopment, claiming many communities lack basic amenities despite the wealth of Nigerian stars.
“But the worst part be say, if you go him village now, like, e fit be one kind bush like that ooh,” he said, lamenting poor infrastructure in some areas.
He concluded with a direct appeal to the footballer:
“I dey pray for you always. I beg, go and return that house as of 3 billion naira… That’s big financial mistake, my man.”
