Liverpool’s Alexander Isak buys £30k protection dog after receiving death threats

Liverpool forward Alexander Isak has invested £30,000 in a highly trained protection dog as part of heightened personal security measures following a wave of abuse and death threats.
According to SunSport, the 26-year-old has faced intense hostility since his £130 million move from Newcastle United, a transfer saga that saw him go on strike to force the deal through.
He and his Sweden teammates also received online death threats after finishing bottom of their group in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Security upgrade after turbulent summer
A source close to the player said the forward is prioritising stability off the pitch after a high-profile summer dominated by transfer drama.
“Alexander has had a very high-profile summer thanks to the drawn-out transfer to Liverpool and the high price the club paid for him,” the source said.
“He wants to get settled off the pitch and getting a protection dog is an essential part of that.”
Phoenix Dogs, a specialist security dog provider, is supplying Isak with a Doberman described as “beautiful inside and out” and a “fabulous beast.”
The striker signed a six-year contract worth £300,000 a week with Liverpool in September.

Growing trend among Premier League stars
Isak joins a growing list of Premier League footballers turning to trained guard dogs amid rising cases of burglaries and home invasions targeting players.
Everton defender Jake O’Brien is among those who recently acquired similar protection. Other top stars, including Marcus Rashford, Kyle Walker and Jack Grealish, also rely on security hounds to safeguard their homes and families.
