Ligue 1: Marseille consider Nnadi exit after limited role

Olympique Marseille are weighing up a summer decision on Tochukwu Nnadi, with the midfielder facing an uncertain future just months after joining the Ligue 1 side.

The 22-year-old arrived from Zulte Waregem in a reported €6 million deal during the winter transfer window, but has struggled to secure regular minutes at the Stade Vélodrome.

Limited opportunities raise concerns

Since his move, Nnadi has featured sparingly, managing only 26 minutes across three appearances. He has also been left out of recent matchday plans, including the defeat to AS Monaco, underlining his current peripheral role in the squad.

His situation has not been helped by managerial changes at the club. Former coach Roberto De Zerbi, who sanctioned his signing, is no longer in charge, while current boss Habib Beye is reportedly unconvinced by the midfielder’s performances so far.

With Marseille pushing for a top-four finish and potential UEFA Champions League qualification, competition for places has intensified, limiting opportunities for fringe players.

Loan move likely as club plans ahead

Despite the uncertainty, a permanent exit appears unlikely at this stage due to the length of Nnadi’s contract.

Instead, Marseille are expected to consider a loan move to aid his development and provide regular playing time.

A return to familiar surroundings or a move within France could be explored, with the priority being consistent minutes at a competitive level.

From a strategic standpoint, the club’s decision will be driven by performance metrics and squad optimisation ahead of next season.

For Nnadi, the immediate objective is to secure game time, rebuild form, and justify the investment made in his potential.
